Here's a very simple page made for Sophie's 1st year album. I am changing the way I have the kid's baby albums into D ring albums with different size page protectors to be able to put in 1st clothes, booties etc so they are all together. I took this idea from Ali Edwards, the way she does things just makes me go Ahhhhh, why didn't I think of that.

I started this quilt today, the weather is way to bad to even consider doing anything outside, great excuse I say.
These are the fabrics I bought in Bright last year and have been sitting on them ever since. I have designed a few patterns for them but they never seemed quite right. At 2am this morning I worked out what I wanted to do, then of course couldn't get back to sleep as I was too busy working out the details. This happens a lot to me!

Look at this pile, isn't it great?
Yesterday I took a heap of clothes down to the Salvo's and had a bit of a look around. There was a lady looking at a vintage chenille bedspread and I thought "that would be right, I've missed out yet again" and I walked off. I saw the lady walking around and she didn't have it with her so I raced to the back of the shop and picked it up, wow, how does anyone go past a beauty like this for $3.50? I felt lucky then, as some of you may be aware, I collect vintage chenille to use in my quilts and over the last few years they have become increasingly hard to find.
So here it is, all cut and ready to use. Most of it is in great condition, there wasn't much I couldn't use due to holes and rust etc, and after a big soak and scrub it has come up beautifully.

Have a great weekend, I'm off to play some more.

  1. Its been way too long since i visited! Girl,i wish i had some of your energy! I have seen some great projects here!

  2. Fabulous, Sue!! What a great find with the vintage chenille! And I love the D-ring albums, too - I like to mix up the sizes of the pages for a fun look.

  3. I am so glad you got the chenille, it must have been meant to be. I can't wait to see what you're going to make with it. Is that you with Spohie in the picture? Your hair looks brown.
The started quilt looks great. You've done so much stuff in such a short amount of time. Good job Sue.

Hi, I love reading your comments and if I don't reply to all of them, please know I appreciate every one.
Have a lovely day :)
