LOST......

One quilt made from Amy Butler fabrics!!!!
I have been searching on and off for about a week now for this unfinished quilt, hmmmmm, my house is not very big and I stash fabrics and unfinished quilts in cupboards and the linen press but I know where they all are when I want them. Not this one, but I will keep searching it must be around somewhere.

Anyway, while I have been searching I came across a finished quilt top that I had forgotten about, I think I made it about 3 years ago as a bed topper for our bed. I got very excited about that one and as it's made of osnaburg which is very heavy, I now remember why I put it away, the arm on my machine simply wasn't big enough to quilt it. Luckily for me I now know a professional quilter who is very reasonable with her rates and it is there now getting quilted. I will show that one when it gets back.

So, I was looking again last night and I came across a heap of log cabin squares that were part of a round-robin with a small stitching group I was a part of about 4 years ago. I looked at them all together and thought "these fabrics really don't do much for me anymore". Then I decided to add linen as the sashing to lighten it up a little and now I'm really liking it. I love working with linen, it's not the easiest fabric to work with, but I love the look and texture.

What do you think?

  1. I love it, Sue!! The cream color adds the perfect contrast for the scrappy blocks and I'll bet the linen texture is beautiful!

Oooohhh, I want to see the Amy Butler, too - I have a partially finished top made with lots of her yummy fabrics I need to pull out and finish.

  3. it's great Sue. I put stuff away ALL the time and can never find them. One day I want to be like you and be able to find everything when I want it. Only a couple times misplacing things is a goal... lol
