IT'S THE SIMPLE THINGS.....

While wondering down the street this morning I spotted this tea set and bought it just like that. It didn't cost much but it makes me smile and that's worth a lot to me.

A week ago I was ready to shout from the rooftops that I was going to Japan for a holiday to meet my dear online friend Lisa, something kept me from shouting however and I now know why.

Darren came home from work yesterday with some not great news, he and the rest of the staff have to take days off without pay due to everything that is going with the economy. I have been supportive and optomistic and I am just grateful that he has a job.

It's not all doom and gloom though, I have been offered a few more hours work at the fabric shop and yesterday I was offered my old job back at kindergym. I have accepted both and they will certainly help our situation.

I will now go and make myself a cuppa with my beautiful new tea set and smile as I sip.

Have a lovely day and I hope you find something that makes you smile.

  1. ooo I love the polka dot tea set.

I hope your hubbys work picks up soon. What industry is he in?

My DH's work is slow but they are making up jobs as they don't want to lose workers. My work is starting to get busier even a little OT being done (we are both in manufacturing)

  3. I didn't shout from the rooftops either. I have heard from a lot of people that they're coming to Japan, but until I see them at the airport, I hold in the excitement. one day, though, it might happen.
I hope that everything works out for your family and that Darren does alright with his forced days off. Toyota company here is doing that same thing. They are rotating between a three and four day work week. Everywhere around the world things are getting more and more difficult.
The teapot and cups are really happy things. Just looking at them made me smile too!
