I'm talking about scrapbooking papers and the backs of the pretty papers you see face up in the shops. I'm drawn more and more to the flip side of these papers. I love the graphics, the small patterns and the shabby plain look that some of these papers have. Don't get me wrong, I like to look at the bold large prints that are usually face up but that's not what I want to use at the moment, I get excited to see what is on the back of the double sided papers instead.
So next time you looking at papers, spare a though for the flip side.

INSPIRED.......
by so many pretty images of granny squares that I've taken the plunge to make 360 squares for a blanket on our bed. All of the grannies will be surrounded in white and while I'm only 20 down, I keep seeing images of a finished blanket looking so lovely in our room.

PROJECT LIFE
Here are some of my thoughts on Project Life.
I never thought I would scrap this way: While I admired PL, I didn't think it fitted into my way of scrapbooking. You see I love arty, funky scrapbooking, leaning more towards art journaling than traditional scrapping.
I think this is all I want to do now: PL has really got me hooked, it's getting those photos printed that before would sit on my computer until I got around to doing a layout.
I'm taking more photos: And not just of events, PL forces me to be more creative with photography. It's a learning curve but I like a challenge.
It does take up more time than I expected: These double pages do take a long time but I hope to get quicker and trust in my choices then I hope they will fall into place a little easier.
I'm using up all of those supplies: You know the ones, they have been sitting around forever. The only things I bought specifically for this project was a bulk box of pages protectors and a box of grid journaling cards.
I didn't think I would be able to keep up to date: I'm really suprising myself here and when it gets too hard, I'll just think of how great it will be to have a weekly record kept for the whole year.
I need to remember which orientation to take my photos: This is proving to be a challenge as what way I take them determines what page protector I use.
PL is creatively satisfying: I'm journaling so much more and writing down and remembering the little things. I could make my pages a little more arty, but at the moment don't feel the need to.

LAST MINUTE DESIGNS
Today I got busy and made up some more fabric journal covers using my favourite Ruby Star Shining typewriters and lined page linen. While I was on a roll, some more pouches were whipped up too.
Tomorrow is the market, I really love market day.

LIBRARY MARKET THIS SUNDAY
I know I said I was having a break from the monthy market, but I went for a look around at the last one and felt really strange not being there with my wares, so I booked in for the next two and then there's a break over the colder months.
So I have been very busy sewing in my very messy sewing room
I'm not going to even try and show what my fabric shelves look like!!!!
So if you happen to be in the Mt Gambier area this Sunday 10 - 2, come and have a chat, I would love to see you.

ZAKKA STYLE
I have been meaning to make up a new wallet for myself for ages and the one in Zakka Style appealed to me.
I've used my favourite Echino fabric with other cotton/linen blends and a cotton word print for the binding.
I made up a cute little matching card holder to slip inside the wallet as I have lots of cards.
I might still add a wrist strap if I can be bothered picking the binding apart, we'll see.
