ITCHING TO DO SOMETHING

I have been very unwell for the past 5 days and have done a lot of nothing. While lying around on the couch the other day I made a decision to finish hand sewing the binding onto our much used lounge quilt.

Yes we've been using the quilt without it being finished, that seems to happen a bit around here.

There's so much more I want to be doing but just don't have the energy. I have swaps to complete and send off very soon. Here's to being healthy once again :)

OOPS!

I couldn't help but buy these great "must have in your stash" fabrics from Spotlight today. I had a voucher and got 40% off.

I started on my Spice Up The Kitchen swap and will be making a few more of these blocks for my partner.

I will be making 2 pot holders, a trivet, a set of produce bags and if I have time, a wall hanging.

My partner loves bright geometric designs and spots. The colours in her kitchen are orange and green and she likes string quilts. I hope she will love what I make her.

MOVING ON

This quilt has been sitting in my linen press for around 5 years. It represents my initial journey from country decorating to modern design.

This was my first large quilt with brighter colours and different textures and elements. I still like the design and colours but I have moved on from country florals and quite honestly, when I look at this quilt I really can't see where I would use it.

I removed all of the pins and will now begin unpicking the stipple quilting so I can use the batting and backing for something else. I will offer it to my mum and see if she wants to re-quilt it as she doesn't do stipple so there's no point in offering it as is.

It feels good to let go sometimes, I know I will never finish this quilt and there's no point in leaving it sitting in the back of a cupboard. Goodbye quilt, I learnt something from you but it's time to move on.

SCRAPPY MUG RUG 3

My partner loves aqua, red and orange and birds/nature. I think she will be happy.

AT THE END OF THE DAY

My feet hurt, I'm in my pjs at 6pm but I'm feeling very happy about the market today. My hard work paid off and I pretty much sold out of everything. Thank you to everyone for the well wishes for today, it was wonderful to see people loving my work.

I didn't get to take a photo at the beginning of the day so by the time I took this one I had sold quite a bit.

I also wanted to show you the artwork of Cherrie, a fellow crafter and friend of mine. Her felting is to die for and I got to be right next door to her today which was lovely as we haven't caught up in quite a while.

So I have another month to make up lots of stock ready for the next market, I'm resting tonight but will be back on track tomorrow.

I THINK I'M ALMOST THERE

The market is tomorrow, I can't believe I'm nervous, I've been doing markets on and off for the last 12 years.

I set up my table yesterday and was still not happy with the number of items I had made, so I sat down last night and finished off more dresses (hopefully I will get a few more done tonight) and 12 headbands. Sophie will be helping me out tomorrow sporting her top and headband as advertising for my products.

I still have a lot of pricing and packing to do tonight and then I can relax.
