TODAY

I really like my wall now. Some pieces are from swaps, others are mine. I'm so glad I did this today rather than housework.

WHERE HAVE I BEEN?

I've been nursing kids back to health, making up a vintage sheet picnic/beach rug tutorial over at Down2Earth and catching up on swaps.

Here is my latest mug rug swap, mailed out yesterday.

My partner likes red & aqua, paper piecing and paris, I have managed to incorporate all of those things into the mug rug so I really hopes she likes it. By the way, the paris bit is the map fabric around the wonky star.

MY HEAD IS FULL OF IDEAS

Here is one I've been thinking about this week.

I have visited this style on and off over the past few years but really want to explore it further. This design has been mounted onto a canvas that measures 24" x 12". I see lots of opportunity for growth in what I'm creating with my designs right now.

Thanks for looking and have a lovely weekend :)

SHOW AND TELL

I'm pretty sure my placemat partner doesn't visit this blog so here is the placemat I sent.

Some yummy new fabric arrived yesterday. I love the retro scenes and have a few Christmas ideas for it.

Lastly, I have made a start on the "guess what it is" project. It will become a rag rug for Sophie's room. She really wants a rug when we paint the floorboards, so she will get a nice surprise on her birthday when she wakes up to this one on her floor.

WHILE SHE RESTS

I have been very busy looking after and giving cuddles to one very sick little girl. I have found little snippets of time while she's been sleeping to do a few little things.

The little birdy is part of something much bigger in my head.

There are over 70 metres in length of 2" strips here. I have pressed the edges over 1/4" and they are sitting and waiting for me to make something from them, any ideas on what I'm making?

LACHIE'S PINCUSHION

All of the kids in Lachie's class were asked to submit 2 craft projects into our local show. Lachie worked very hard on finishing this felt pincushion and was rewarded with a third place certificate. (Unfortunately something wet must have smudged his name).

The pincushion now sits proudly on my sewing table for me to use every day.
