DE-CLUTTERING THE DESK

All of this came out of the top of my sewing desk. I'm not sure how I fitted it all in and there was no way it was going back like that.

So after some organising and dumping I bought some cheap pink containers to go in the drawers and spent the afternoon re-organising and re-discovering stuff I forgot I had.

NEEDLE FELTING ANYONE?

Another one of my little crafty endevours I like to spend some time on is needle felting or dry felting.
I have a lovely collection of hand dyed wool all sitting in a basket looking pretty that I pull out every now and then and start to felt.

Last night I decided to play with some pretty pink 100% wool felt and some of my stash to felt with.
I think I'd like to explore a few more options with what to design using needle felting, maybe like notebook covers or little felted purses. I'll just add that to the never-ending list.

MY PILE (SOME OF IT ANYWAY)

I really need to spend some quality time finishing off these quilt tops. Then maybe I can get to the pile of blocks waiting to become tops.

So here is my list of tops to finish:

Sophie's pink and green brick quilt - pinned and ready to quilt.
Spiderweb Quilt
Boy's Wonky Log Cabin
Modern Disappearing 9 Patch
Laura Gunn Stack and Slash
Vintage Girl's Play Quilt - just binding to go
Snippets Quilt
Far Away Quilt - just binding to go

I will note my progress as I get to them. It really is time for the pile to become a little smaller, especially since I have Hope Valley and California Dreamin' on their way here.

PIMPING CONTINUED....

Okay so here's a peek at the colour of my walls, pretty isn't it?

and my new curtains I'm busy making atm. I found this funky fabric at Spotlight for only $5.95/metre.

and here is a reminder of what the walls and curtains used to look like.

It's all slowly coming together out there. The pretty colours just make me smile.

NELLIE G DESIGNS

Let me introduce you to some of my very talented cousin's work.
Janelle is a busy mum of two gorgeous kids and somehow finds the time to make heaps of beautiful buttons and now these very cute slides and pins.
When I first saw them, I knew Sophie would love to have a set and they arrived today. Thank you Cuz, they are even more amazing in real life.

PIMPING CHAPTER 2

Well I'm still pimping my van. I decided to change the colours on the walls as the cream walls, blue overhead cupboards and country floral curtains just didn't do it for me anymore.

We now have lime green walls, white overhead cupboards and I am currently picking out some bright, funky fabrics for the curtains.

I ripped out the 2 remaining lounge seats as they were only used as a dumping ground, now I have so much more space for shelves and cupboards. The next job is to take up the lino I put down a few years ago and paint the wooden floor a pink/red colour.

After these alterations I will continue to add artworks to the walls and ceiling, maybe the floor also.......

Ahhh so many ideas, so little time.

Photos will come soon I promise.

PIMP MY VAN

Tonight I spent a couple of hours in my caravan. I looked at unfinished projects, thought about starting something new...... then pulled out a paintbrush and started creating right there on the walls and ceiling.
I was having so much fun and really didn't want to go to bed and as much as I tried to make myself believe that I didn't need sleep, I decided for my children's sake that I would stop and go inside.

Ceiling Art

Now that I've started pimping my van I don't want to stop, all of a sudden the creative juices are flowing after what seems like a long drought. Tomorrow afternoon I want to hopefully do some more.

A QUICK LOOK

at some of the piecing of the commission quilt I'm working on.

Boy there's a lot of piecing in this beauty. I hope to be finished by Thursday, ready to give to my client.
I will be studying in any spare time I have over the next week, so I still won't be around all that much. Hopefully I will be back to creating very soon.
Cheers
