SUNDAY WONKINESS

I decided to make some more wonky triangles today after seeing what Penny over at Sew Take A Hike was doing. After the first lot I made a couple of weeks ago, I realised I had forgotten to include my orange Denyse Schmidt fabrics. I had put them away for another quilt but as this is my 'Denyse Schmidt fabric quilt', out they came to be cut up. I feel happier about it now seeing those yummy colours all together and there are still so many more to make, it will certainly be colourful and cheery.
Want to know a secret? I have 1/2 yard of all the fabrics in Denyse's new line 'Hope Valley' on it's way to me as we speak, squeal!!!!!!! Bad, bad me.

We put up the Christmas tree today full of vintage ornaments that had been collected over the last year by myself and my friend Gloria Froese from Canada. Thank you Gloria for being so generous and for taking the time to pick these out for me, I love them all especially the gorgeous indent ornaments.

WERE HAS THE WEEK GONE?

It's starting to get crazy around here, 2 birthday parties to organise, a year 7 graduation and dance concerts to prepare for, not to mention working 2 jobs, keeping everything running smoothly at home, a commission quilt to finish and 3 huge quilts to bind as paid work.

So, what do I do with my spare time?
Bake yummy Raspberry Jam Drops from my new favourite cookbook, the Country Womens Association of NSW book.

Planting nasturtiums around my raised vegetable beds.

and finishing quilting a quilt to be sent to the other side of the world, hopefully my Christmas.

Look what turned up in my mail box today.

This wall hanging will compliment the smaller art canvases I am making for our lounge.

and Willow Beauty will be made for our bedroom, aren't the fabrics just gorgeous.

So that's my week so far, time to get back out in the garden while the weather is good.

THE START OF YET ANOTHER QUILT

9 triangles down 171 to go!!!!

I'm just trying to show you that I have been working, and that I finally had the guts to cut into all of my Denyse Schmidt fabrics.
I have been doing other sewing but I can't show you, one quilt is a present and I am taking on a couple of commission quilts as well.

So I am here, just busy.
Have a great weekend everyone.

HI THERE

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.
Let me tell you about my week, my sister, Taresa came to stay with us for 2 nights, she came down to celebrate her son Kyle's 13th birthday and they both stayed here. I just wish it was for longer that's all.

I started putting together my December Daily 2009 album. I have the fabric cover on and the pages made. I am going a little more uniform this year with all of the pages the same size and tabbed. Here's a peek......

I would have more done but I've been busy nursing injuries. Lachie did his ankle in again, poor kid, he can't stand sitting still.
and Dan played paintball all day for Kyle's birthday. He has bruises everywhere and has to play cricket all day tomorrow for the Kerr Shield that he got in to.

So my weekend will be gone before I know it and tomorrow I will be spending all day in the sunshine watching my boy get a little closer to his sporting goals, speaking of which, he bowled 2 for 0 and caught one this morning before paintball. Well done Dan, I'm so proud of you.

DECEMBER DAILY TAGS

I've started my December Daily Album for this year by making the tags to go on each day's page. I'm going vintage this time round.

I haven't put together the album yet, I'm not sure on the size or if there will be different size pages like last year's. I will work on that during the week if I have time. My sister is visiting for a couple of days from NSW, I'm so excited I haven't seen her for 2 years and really miss her.
