MAKING BREAD

What a fantastic way to make bread. I would recommend this book to everyone.

This loaf didn't last very long, at least I have enough dough to make another 5 in the fridge.

I'm off to my caravan for some scrapping time.

YOU MIGHT THINK....

that I've fallen off the face of the earth, but no, it's just that for the last 3 weeks I've struggled with an amazing amount of pain from an extraction gone wrong and now I'm working pretty much full time this week, so I am around just not here.

I was reminded however that it is that time again to start getting organised for my 2009 December Daily. For those of you who don't know what it is you could visit my archives for December's posts last year, just scroll down for the list on the right hand side or here for Ali Edwards' blog.

Time to get to it and gather my supplies, I'll be using a mixture of old and new this year as last year I used up supplies I had on hand and I don't have a lot left. I will be incorporating fabric this year and going vintage. I'm getting excited now but have to go back to work tonight so maybe I'll get to start tomorrow night.

1 OUT OF 9

I have finally finished the 1st art quilt in a set of 9. These 12"x12" quilts are stapled to a canvas for hanging.
This one looks a little lonely on my lounge room wall, so on to the next 8 I go.

The patterns and fabrics are by McKenna Ryan, her Faith, Hope, Love series.

DON'T FALL OVER....

I scrapbooked!!!!!
As I have mentioned lately I am having a finishing off month. Here is an album I started making last year of the kids in the Grampians. I have shown some of the pages before but now it is finally complete.

and...
While I was in a finishing off mood and already had torn papers out, I thought I might finally finish of a circle journal I've had sitting here for quite some time. Sorry for the lateness Patti :) The theme is 'my top 5'

Now back to some sewing.

BTW my private P!NK concert was too awesome for words, just like being there again.

I'VE GOT MAIL

The snail mail type.

I ordered two patterns from Emily at Carolina Patchworks around 1 1/2 months ago and patiently waited 3 weeks for them to arrive. Unfortunately they are probably making a couple of world trips and who knows if they will ever arrive. Anyway, I contacted Emily who graciously put a new set in the mail for me and they arrived today. I can't wait to start these patterns, something I don't normally buy as I like to make up my own but these are a challenge, something I need right now. I'm still having a finishing off month so they may have to wait a little longer.

I whipped up these box pouches for Sophie and Lachie last night, they both wanted one to hold their treasures in and of course Lachie wanted skulls.

SNIPPETS QUILT TOP FINISHED

I was in the mood to add just a little applique to this one, I think it looks sweet.

My poor laptop is out of action for a couple of days, the power box thingy had some bare wires and the started sparking today. I went to get another one and nearly fell over when they said it would cost 150, so they are soldering it up for 45 instead. This keyboard on our other computer barely works, no numbers up the top or dollar signs etc, and very hard to get a capital to work AHHGGGGGG exclamation, exclamation.

Back soon with some scrapbooking.

SEWING, SEWING, SEWING

I've just had a fantastic afternoon sewing, I completed the snippets quilt top on my design wall and another quilt top that is a bit of a secret as the recipient of it pops over to this blog sometimes.

Here's a little sneak peek.....

I have added a little bit of applique to the snippets quilt, I will finish that off and show you what I did hopefully tomorrow after all the Vampire Dairies are on tonight so that will take up a bit of my time.
Ahhhh the romance between a vampire and a human, just can't get enough of it. I was facinated with this story-line years ago and watched every episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer right from the start to the very end, people thought I was a bit strange (including my husband) and now look at them going mad over Twilight etc. LOL.

PORTABLE DESIGN WALL

First up thanks to all those who commented on what to do with this quilt, I really should have just gone with my first idea which is what most of you thought I should do here and on Flickr.

Secondly, I was getting fed up with shifting furniture everytime I wanted to lay out a quilt on the floor and I read on a blog (sorry, can't remember which one) about making a portable design wall. I thought, why didn't I think of that!!! You see, I don't have room for a permanent fixture so this is just perfect, it's amazing how clearly you see things when you are looking straight at them.
So off to the hardware shop to get 2 pieces of dowel, then off to Spotlight to pick up some really cheap flannel, sew 2 rod pockets and there you have it, perfect to put up on our sliding doors. To pack up all I have to do is roll it and slide it under our bed. I'm loving it already.
Tonight I will get this quilt top together then I will spend some time writing down all of the ideas I have floating around in my head.

PRETTY STASH

Okay, so I'm a little obsessed with Denyse Schmidt's fabrics. I just can't help myself but it definately has to stop now. I'm pretty sure I have enough for a few quilts and I am certainly not paying the over-inflated prices of some of the discontinued range.
But they are oh so pretty.
