TIME TO START THINKING ABOUT......

Christmas!!!!
I have been slowly working on this mini album made from little folders to hold photos and memorabilia for the last two years on and off (usually around this time of year). It was being held in the decorated tin behind the album in the first photo, but has, as of today, outgrown the tin so a cover may now be in order.

Here are the folders and inserts from 1997 up to 2003. The other years are nearly completed and I will definately have them finished well before Christmas.

This album comes out at Christmas time and the kids love looking back though it and reading the sometimes very funny journaling.

Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win the goodies if you are in Australia. I'm nearly at 100 posts, just a couple more to go.

A LITTLE SOMETHING TO SHARE

I haven't been feeling all that well this week and have been itching to do something creative.

Let me talk you through this layout.
I played around with photoshop to get the look I was after for the photo.

1. Spray moonshadow mist onto cardstock
2. Glue patterned papers on top
3. Use medium to attach napkins
4. Stamp on florishes
5. Add photo
6. Glue on another napkin over part of photo
7. Pour on melted beeswax
8. Using a mini quilting iron, smooth out the beeswax

Here's another little play-around with photoshop, this time with the sketch filter.

IT'S BEEN A YEAR TODAY

I can't believe it's been a whole year since I started this blog, the last year has certainly been an amazing creative journey for me and I've met some wonderful, truly talented people through the blogging world.

Thank you to all the people that come back time after time and to those that leave comments, I send out bigs hugs to you :)

I'm also very close to my 100th post. So from now until I reach my 100th (which should be in the next two weeks), if you leave me a comment, I will get my kids to pick one and I will be sending that person a box full of crafty goodies. In the box there will be new stuff, vintage stuff, just heaps of yummy crafty fun.

Unfortunately I will have to limit this prize to Australian addresses only, as I am certainly not rich and postage is a real killer out here. But even if you are not from Australia, please feel free to leave me some love so I can check out your blogs or websites.

HAPPY MONDAY

What a beautiful weekend we've had here, the sun has been shining, the bulbs are out, today is a holiday and it's raining.
It's my Mum's birthday tomorrow so I'm taking her out the our local native nursery to buy her some plants, she loves natives as much as I do. We had better put on our raincoats though.

Last night I was totally G-Inspired (Gloria Froese Inspired) and here is what I came up with. I love how the napkin looks over the photo, a total fluke getting the flower over my eye and so glad it worked out like that. I hand cut the swirl from pp and basically stuck everything down with Golden Matte Gel Medium. Now I've always been a Mod Podge girl but now I have the Golden Medium, it will be hard to go back, I love it, the consistancy is beautiful and it just glides over whatever you are applying it to. (Yes I get very excited about mediums).

2 POSTS IN 1 DAY!

I just went to the post office and look what was waiting very patiently for me.

A friend of mine had Fabric Art Workshop and I had looked in Traci Bautista's Collage Unleashed before and they are definately a must for my ever-growing mixed media bookshelf. Off to read now.

MY BABIES ARE BACK

after 3 days away in the Grampians with their grandparents, all of my babies are home again. I missed them so much and kept myself busy by making things. I should have been re-plastering and painting Sophie's bedroom, but doing these things made me very happy.
A simple page for Lachie's album

The journaling reads:
This is Dan in his "car" having a race with his class mates. Lachie decided he was in on this one and grabbed a piece of car wreckage from a previous race and took off holding a bit of cardboard in front of him.
What a class act, he made us laugh so hard.

Another pretty skirt for Sophie

A quilt for Lachie's bed. Ignore the threads, it's only the quilt top ATM, it will be put together tomorrow hopefully.
